The health & welfare trust benefit plan year is different than the student health plan year--our plan year is November 1 to October 31 of each year.  We are currently still in plan year 2009-10, which ends 10/31/10.  The 2010-11 plan year will run from November 1, 2010-October 31, 2011 and applications for this plan year will be available at the end of September 2010.

If you're an incoming new graduate student employee for academic year 2010-11, and did not earn wages in a GEO eligible position during 2009-10, your first possible date for coverage is November 1, 2010.

You will receive an enrollment packet for plan year 2010-11 at your UMass email address by mid-September 2010.  Online enrollments will begin at the end of September 2010.
